When should the move-out clean happen?
Schedule the clean after the movers and any repair work are finished. Floors, closets and baseboards are hard to reach with furniture still in place. Leave a little time between the clean and the key handoff so you can walk through the home yourself.
Keep the water and electricity on until we are done, and send us gate codes, lockbox details and any parking notes ahead of time. If you are moving in, try to book the clean before your own furniture arrives. Stacking movers, painters and cleaners in the same window rarely goes smoothly.
What gets cleaned in the kitchen?
Empty the fridge, freezer, cabinets and pantry before we arrive so every shelf and drawer can be cleaned. We wipe the inside of the cabinets and drawers, clean the inside of the fridge, freezer, oven and microwave, and detail the counters, sink and stovetop.
Defrost the freezer ahead of time if it has heavy ice. Take any food, cleaning products and trash with you, because hauling items away is not part of the clean. A clear kitchen lets the time go to the surfaces that buyers and landlords check first.

What about bathrooms, closets and floors?

Floors are vacuumed and mopped last so the house is ready for the next owner or tenant. Carpet shampooing, painting and repairs need a separate specialist. If a contractor comes back after we finish, plan for some fresh dust where they worked.
